James Milner sends Instagram message to Liverpool’s Billy Koumetio after training picture

Billy Koumetio continues to make a name for himself at Liverpool having broken into the first-team set-up under Jurgen Klopp this season – and James Milner has responded on Instagram to pictures posted by Koumetio from this week’s training sessions.

Koumetio, 18, has become a regular with the club’s Under-23 side this season – impressing in defence for Liverpool’s second string. Despite his tender age, he is already becoming one of the club’s best young talents and Klopp has certainly noticed.

The France Under-18 international even earned his senior debut, playing 45 minutes against FC Midtjylland earlier this season in the Champions League  – a match which Liverpool drew 1-1. In that game, he impressed and plenty applauded his efforts.

He is yet to add to that but certainly, there is enormous potential for the teenage star. He has been training with the first team, especially while the international players have jetted off – and posted some pictures on Instagram from training this week.

It will be an interesting summer for Koumetio. Does he stay at Liverpool, train with the first team and look to play in Liverpool’s pre-season with the hope of impressing Klopp enough to be given a chance in the senior side – and get, perhaps, 10 games?

Or does he leave on loan this summer and get 30+ first-team games in the bank. Koumetio posted a couple of pictures alongside James Milner and the veteran responded, suggesting that he had to put more effort in than Koumetio during a duel.
