James Milner makes claim about Liverpool teammate Harvey Elliott
James Milner has labelled Harvey Elliott ‘incredible’ in an interview with Liverpool’s official website as he lauded the way in which the starlet has dealt with his serious injury.
Elliott’s stock has somehow continued to rise despite the 18-year-old not featuring in any of the Reds’ last six games.
That is because the attacking midfielder has conducted himself in an amazing manner since coming off during the win at Leeds United in September.
He applauded the home supporters as he was taken off at Elland Road, and quickly took to social media to reassure the fans as best as he could.
It would have been easy for Elliott to feel sorry for himself. He had broken into Jurgen Klopp’s plans this term. So the timing of his injury could hardly be crueller.
But Milner outlined just how impressed he has been with the teenager’s attitude.
“He’s been so positive from the start, to be honest. I was talking about mental strength before, as soon as it happened, the things he was saying, he talks like he’s been through it all before and he’s a 30-odd-year-old player,” he told Liverpool’s official website.
“He’s incredible. He’s got a great mindset, he’s done all his work, he’s progressing really well.”

Of course, there will be a question mark over Elliott until he is back playing. Fans will be desperately hoping that he is able to put this spell behind him.
Whether he fully gets back on track may be somewhat out of his hands. But there is surely no question that he is giving himself the best chance.
Elliott was threatening to be one of the Premier League’s most impressive starlets on the pitch this season.
He may still manage that. But what is not in doubt is he is proving to be one of the most impressive away from the pitch.
