Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has wished Eric Dier all the best after the defender sealed a loan move away from Spurs.
Thursday was a busy day for Tottenham on the transfer front. Spurs welcomed Radu Dragusin to N17, while Dier and Djed Spence left on loan.
Dier sealed a loan switch to Bayern Munich until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent for a further year (BBC Sport).
According to ESPN, Bayern will pay a fee of between €2million and €4million to make the deal permanent, depending on performances.
With Dier’s Tottenham contract expiring at the end of the season, it seems likely that the 29-year-old has played his last game for Spurs.

Maddison took to Instagram stories after Tottenham confirmed Dier’s departure with a message for his fellow Three Lions ace.
“Good luck brother! Great player & great human,” wrote the 27-year-old. “Will be missed.”
Dier has been out of favour under Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, making only four Premier League appearances this season.
This is despite Spurs experiencing a personnel crisis at the back. And with Dragusin now through the door, Dier would’ve slipped further down the pecking order.
While it’s a move that makes sense for all parties, it’s still sad to see a player who spent much of his career at Tottenham, gave his all for the club, and was part of one of their best squads in years.
Dier was an important player under Mauricio Pochettino as they regularly challenged for the Premier League title in the 2010s and reached the Champions League final in 2019.
The 29-year-old, who Spurs bought from Sporting Lisbon for a reported £4million in 2014, has made 364 competitive appearances for the Lilywhites.
