James Maddison raves about Liverpool star, his stats are 'absolutely outrageous'
James Maddison has told Amazon Prime in a video posted on Instagram that Liverpool star Mo Salah is “absolutely outrageous”, when it comes to his stats. Maddison was asked which player is the best in the Premier League, right now.
Salah, 29, has been labelled the best player in world football at this moment in time by many pundits and fans alike. Little surprise, the 73-time Egypt international has scored 22 goals in 25 games – laying on nine assists.
The ex-Chelsea and Roma man now boasts 147 goals in 228 games for Liverpool since joining the club in 2017. Consistency, not only to always be available to play, but to always play to a level that terrifies opposition defenders.
Asked who the best player in the Premier League is at the moment, at this halfway stage, Leicester star Maddison responded. He picked Salah, branding the right-winger as “relentless” and a “top player”.

“I think Mohamed Salah, top player. His numbers are absolutely outrageous. Goals, assists, constant, relentless. So I would probably say Salah, yeah,” Maddison told Amazon Prime Video Sport, in a video on Instagram.
Maddison on Salah: Liverpool will miss star man during AFCON
The drop off from Salah to the likes of Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino is substantial. Whether Jurgen Klopp will look to bring someone in, in January, remains to be seen.
But the chances are that Liverpool will have to make do with what they have got – despite Juventus interest in Belgium international Origi. Salah will be missed and any dwindling title hopes are likely to vanish over the next few weeks.
