James Maddison has reacted to Tottenham Hotspur’s performance at Old Trafford yesterday.

Spurs picked up a 2-2 draw at Manchester United thanks to goals from Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Ange Postecoglou’s men were forced to come back from behind on two occasions, despite dominating for large periods of the game.

It’s no secret that Tottenham are missing a few key players at the moment, with Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr currently at AFCON 2024.

Heung-Min Son is also participating in the Asian Cup, while James Maddison remains sidelined but is closing in on a return.

Dejan Kulusevski missed out on yesterday’s trip to Manchester due to illness.

When you consider the fact that Spurs were without five of their best players, their dominant display at United is all the more impressive.

And that’s certainly the view Maddison has taken, with the Spurs star posting his reaction to the game on his Instagram story.

Maddison took to social media last night and praised his teammates for putting in a ‘good shift’ on the road.

He wrote: “Good shift from the lads with lots of players unavailable.”

Tottenham have been without Maddison since nearly November but he seems to be edging ever closer to a return to action.

Spurs certainly missed his creativity yesterday, especially with Kulusevski and Giovani Lo Celso also ruled out.

However, they were boosted by the returns of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, who both put in solid displays.

It feels like Spurs are on the cusp of getting something close to their strongest XI back on the pitch after a difficult spell due to injuries and suspensions.

With the likes of Sarr, Bissouma and Son set to return next month, it could be an exciting end to the season for Tottenham fans.
