Birmingham City coach, James Beattie, has warned Jude Bellingham of the importance of his next move amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The teenager is one of the hottest properties in Europe after an outstanding breakthrough season for the Blues.
Bellingham’s form has seen the likes of Liverpool and United register their interest. Indeed, according to the Sun, the Red Devils lead the chase to land the youngster.
However, current Birmingham coach Beattie has warned Bellingham he faces a big decision. The former England striker concedes the midfielder will move on but insists the time must be right for the player.
“Jude’s a very good player. He’s a very nice young man as well, which is very important,” Beattie told Sky Sports.
“I think if Jude keeps his feet on the ground and keeps developing, then he’ll be a very, very good player.”
Beattie, who played five times for England, insisted further that the Birmingham starlet must stay grounded to succeed.
“Jude’s best advice is to just concentrate on his football, let that do the talking, and then when it comes to the decision, makes sure it’s a decision that he’s happy with and that he’s not making the decision on behalf of somebody else.”
Bellingham is expected to move on this summer. Birmingham are apparently resigned to losing their man but will be hoping to cash in on one of the game’s best young talents.
Either club will be good for Bellingham but United is attractive – TBR View
There’s no point pretending that both Old Trafford and Anfield are excellent destinations for Bellingham.
Both clubs are huge and both are rich with history. Bellingham might get more chances at United, however, meaning it could well sway things.
Furthermore, it is claimed United are willing to pay up to £50m for the youngster. Whether Liverpool would match that fee remains to be seen.
Either way, it looks like Birmingham will be quids in come the summer months.
