Over the past few months, Rangers have been strongly linked with a move for Motherwell starlet Jake Hastie. A host of clubs, including Rangers, have watched him in action for Motherwell.
In early March, The Scottish Sun claimed that Hastie was on the verge of signing a pre-contract deal with Rangers.
The Gers had reportedly agreed on a four-year deal with the young winger, beating off a number of clubs to his signature.
But it seems that Rangers have since done a U-turn on Hastie. According to The Evening Times, Rangers have dropped out of the running for the 20-year-old.
Since returning from his loan spell at Alloa Athletic in January, Hastie has been a sensation for Motherwell.

With seven goals and one assist in 13 games, the Scotland under-21 winger has been in excellent form and it is no surprise to see him linked with an exit.
Rangers had the chance to scout Hastie firsthand on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership clash between the two sides.
And while Hastie could not prevent Motherwell from losing 3-0 to Rangers, he produced a lively display.
Jon Flanagan struggled to contain the skilful and pacy winger on occasions and this might have caught Steven Gerrard’s eye.
For a mere compensation fee, Hastie is worth a gamble and his performance against Rangers could help to earn him a move to Ibrox.
