As Rangers reportedly close in on the signing of Motherwell starlet Jake Hastie, he has not let the transfer speculation affect his game.

Hastie scored for Motherwell at the weekend, finishing off a smart move by himself. And Rangers scouts would have been impressed with what they saw.

The 19-year-old is set to sign a four-year deal at Ibrox after Rangers offered him a pre-contract agreement, according to The Scottish Sun.

Crystal Palace have since joined the race for Hastie, as per The Daily Express, who is likely to cost £250,000 in compensation.

Motherwell are still keen to tie Hastie down to a new deal but it looks like Rangers will be benefiting from the exciting young winger’s ability next season.

Hastie netted his sixth goal in just his ninth game since returning to Motherwell after a loan spell with Alloa Athletic.

The talented teenager took his chance well after creating the opening himself. It was a trademark dart down the right wing from the youngster, who left his marker when he showed an impressive turn of speed.

Hastie’s ball into the box was half-cleared and when it came back into the box, the winger was in the right place at the right time to tap in from close range.

The Scotland under-21 starlet is an exciting prospect and Rangers fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of having him in their side.
