According to reports, Rangers are on the verge of snapping up one of Scotland’s hottest young talents. Rangers are set to land Motherwell starlet Jake Hastie on a four-year deal, according to The Scottish Sun.

Hastie is out of contract at the end of the season and will choose to move on, despite breaking into Motherwell’s starting team recently.

After returning from a loan spell at Alloa Athletic, the exciting winger has netted five goals in eight games. This form alerted a host of clubs with this report claiming Celtic, Middlesbrough, Hull City and Millwall were chasing Hastie.

But the 19-year-old is closing in on a switch to Ibrox as Rangers bolster their options out wide for the future by offering the Scotland under-21 wonder-kid a long-term contract.

Hastie would be an exciting signing for the future on a bargain pre-contract agreement. But this should not spell the end of Rangers’ chase for Ryan Kent.

Liverpool winger Kent has thrived on loan at Rangers this season, taking his career to the next step under Steven Gerrard.

It is no secret that both Rangers and Kent want to make this move permanent at the end of the season, as The Daily Record reported back in October 2018.

And the lively 22-year-old’s hopes of earning a permanent deal in Glasgow should not be dented by Hastie. With Hastie on one side and Kent on the other, Rangers could have some devastating options on the wing for years to come.
