Jairo Riedewald must hope Frank De Boer ends his Crystal Palace nightmare
Former Crystal Palace boss Frank De Boer is back in work. The Dutch legend is in charge of MLS champions Atlanta United, replacing outgoing boss Tata Martino.
De Boer, of course, had a horrid spell at Selhurst Park. He was sacked by Crystal Palace in September 2017 after just five games with little sign of improvement.

Now he has a new home, it might be good news for a current Crystal Palace outcast. Jairo Riedewald will surely be hoping he attempts to reunite the pair.

Signed in 2017 for £7.9 million, the Dutch international knew De Boer from their time at Ajax together.
However, the versatile defensive option has struggled in England. After the sacking of De Boer, he has been a rare first-teamer for the Eagles.
“Jairo Riedewald is a player I know well through my time at Ajax and I’m glad that he’s now coming to join us at Crystal Palace.
“He will be an excellent addition to our squad, Jairo is a young player but already has a lot of experience. I know he is looking forward to playing in the Premier League.”

He has not played a single minute of Premier League football for Roy Hodgson’s side so far this season. His last league appearance for the club came in April and, despite three EFL Cup fixtures for the club this season it is unlikely he will be happy with his current situation.
If anyone out there can help Riedewald escape his Palace struggles it was De Boer. An offer from America would be more than welcome.
