Jadon Sancho has claimed on Instagram that he’s got a “dangerous” connection on the pitch with England teammate Bukayo Saka, who is a rising talent at Arsenal.
Borussia Dortmund attacker Sancho, who is valued at £120million (Liverpool Echo), made a strong impact off the bench in midweek during England’s 4-0 victory against Iceland in the Nations League.
The 20-year-old assisted Phil Foden for the first of his two goals and there was some exceptional football in the build up.
Left-winger Sancho played a one-two with wing-back Saka to work his way up the pitch before laying on the pass for Foden.
Saka, 19, played the full game during England’s midweek win and was one of the standout individuals with his constant energy from the left wing-back position.
The Arsenal teenager linked up well with Sancho, as well as doing the same with Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish when he was on the pitch.
Despite Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell being in pole position for England’s first-choice left-back, there is no doubt that Arsenal’s youngster has now given Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate a selection headache.
Saka has proven he’s so well suited to the left wing-back role with a great balance between attack and defence, with England looking like they will prefer a 3-4-3 formation at next summer’s European Championships.
The Gunners academy graduate is a regular starter in Mikel Arteta’s XI and he needs to just keep up his form for Arsenal.
