West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere is flying his own personal physio over from Ireland twice a week, according to the Daily Mail.
They report that Wilshere is so desperate to get himself back to full fitness that he is flying Declan Lynch, who he met during their time together at Arsenal.
Lynch has his own clinic in Limerick, but Wilshere has been having sessions with him twice a week and is reportedly keen to continue during the season.
Manuel Pellegrini apparently does not have any objections – he just wants to have Wilshere at his disposal as often as possible after an underwhelming first season.
TBR’s View – Can this year finally be the season that Wilshere gets himself fit?
We have been waiting for Wilshere to realise his potential for so many years now and with other young stars like Mason Mount breaking through, the interest is waning.
But there’s no doubt that West Ham would be a better side for having a fit Jack Wilshere in there – so they really need this to be a success.
Can two sessions a week really help Wilshere get himself right? It seems a tough ask and it’s more likely that not overrunning the ball and flying into tackles would be more helpful.
It remains to be seen but Wilshere had injury problems at Arsenal when Lynch was there, so is he really a magic bullet? Time will tell.
