Jack Wilshere has delivered an eight-word verdict on his Instagram story after watching Arsenal come from behind to finally beat Benfica and progress into the last 16 of the Europa League – thanks to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace.
The Gunners came into the match having drawn the first leg in Portugal 1-1. An away goal gave them the advantage, though only slight – but Mikel Arteta’s men delivered the first blow, with a beautiful pass from Bukayo Saka and Aubameyang’s chip.
But Benfica came back into it – scoring twice through Diogo Goncalves and Rafa Silva. Tasked with scoring twice in the last 30 minutes – the first a brilliant goal from Kieran Tierney, who cut back on his left foot before firing past the goalkeeper.
Then, with 87 minutes on the clock, the Saka-Aubameyang combination clicked again – as the England international crossed for the Gabon captain who nodded home. Wilshere was asked about Arsenal’s win, moments after Benfica hit the post.

The Gunners learn their fate in the last 16, with the Europa League draw taking place at midday on Friday. Any team can now play against any other team, regardless of the groups they were in – or even if they are from the same country.
Leicester were knocked out by Slavia Prague, losing 2-0 at home after a draw in the first leg. But Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have progressed with a 9-5 aggregate win over Royal Antwerp, and Arsenal are also joined by Tottenham and Manchester United.
Wilshere, meanwhile, is getting back into the swing of things with Championship side Bournemouth – who are pushing for the Championship play-offs under new management in Jonathan Woodgate. They currently sit in seventh place.
