Jack Wilshere has told TalkSPORT (10/08; 09:14) that Thomas Partey can be a big player for Arsenal this season. The Ghanaian arrived at the Gunners from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day during the summer window of 2020.
He didn’t enjoy the best of maiden seasons in the Premier League. He spent some time out injured and struggled to get going. Partey will also miss the start of this season through injury.
At 28 though there is plenty of time for Partey to get into his stride. Arsenal won’t be washing their hands of him just yet and Wilshere believes he will come good.

He told TalkSPORT (10/08; 09:14): “I think Ben White is a good signing and I like the look of the boy (Albert Sambi) Lokonga, he looks really good.
“I also think they’ll get more out of Thomas Partey this year. He’s a top player and I think he will come good.”
It’s a real blow for Partey that he will miss the start of 2021/22. It would have been ideal for him to get into his stride as quickly as possible this term.
Now, he will have to wait on the sidelines whilst other players aim to force their way into Arteta’s regular plans.
Partey is expected to be missing until after the first international break and he’ll hope to bounce back as quickly as possible.
Partey needs to justify Wilshere praise with solid Arsenal form
The 28-year-old has to get going at Arsenal when he is fit this season. After costing £45 million, the Gunners will want to start seeing a return on their investment in the coming season.

Wilshere is perhaps wise to back him though and if he retains Arteta’s faith he might just prove to be an important player for the club this season.
The ball is now in Partey’s court to get himself fit and firing ready for a big season at the Emirates Stadium.
