Reported Rangers target, Jack Wilshere, has revealed he favours a move abroad at the moment after cutting loose from his contract with West Ham.

The 28-year-old is once again looking for a fresh start after David Moyes informed he that he wouldn’t have a part to play for the Hammers this season.

A number of clubs are said to be keen on Wilshere, with the Talksport claiming Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has a ‘genuine interest’ in seeing the former Arsenal man arrive at Ibrox.

But despite admitting he is open to offers and will take his time over his next move, Wilshere told Talksport today that a move abroad is something he is leaning towards at the moment.

“I think I want to try something different – I am leaning towards that. Maybe LaLiga, Italy, something a little bit different that not many English players have done.

“At the same time, I am probably going to take a week or two to decide. I was in this position when I left Arsenal and if I have learnt anything from that, it is to take your time and make sure it is right for you.”

Wilshere has just shy of 40 caps for England and at 28 should have plenty in the locker. He admits he has been fit since February, and has simply not featured as Moyes preferred other players over him.

Rangers should push the boat out, but only if the wages are right – TBR View

Nobody in football doubts that Jack Wilshere is a talented player. He has skills many midfielders would love to have and is capable of dictating games and producing moments of brilliance.

However, those have been few and far between for someone so talented. Rangers should, in theory, push the boat out and try and sign Wilshere.

But the wages need to be right and he needs to stay fit. If it all falls into place, he could easily be one of the finest players in Scotland.
