According to The Daily Mail, Celtic are willing to loan Jack Hendry out this month.
Hendry has fallen down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers and will be granted a temporary exit.
Among the clubs interested are League One trio Portsmouth, Bradford and Sunderland, as per The Daily Mail.
Hendry has struggled when given a chance this season, receiving criticism from the fans for some error-riddled displays.
The 23-year-old centre-back needs to prove himself out on loan to save his long-term Celtic future.
Loaning him out is the right decision by Rodgers, who prefers Filip Benkovic, Dedryck Boyata, Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic.
And Hendry should be the first of many to join a mass exodus at Celtic Park this month.
Rodgers has previously bemoaned the size of his “bloated” squad, The Scotsman reports.
So he should use the January transfer window to trim his squad and get rid of some fringe options, permanently or on loan.
Marvin Compper, Scott Allan, Jonny Hayes and Kundai Benyu are all candidates for the axe.
The likes of Lewis Morgan, Conor Hazard and other young fringe players should also be given loan exits to develop their game.
Hendry does not feature in Rodgers’ immediate plans and it makes sense to let him leave on loan.
The Scotland international can be the first man out the door with several other Bhoys following him.
