Leeds United have been linked with a whole host of attacking players as Marcelo Bielsa prioritises adding wingers to his promotion-chasing squad, and Jack Harrison’s latest Instagram post will only encourage a bid.
The 22-year-old impressed in glimpses on loan from Manchester City last season, scoring four goals and creating four more in 42 league and cup appearances for the Whites.
The Sun claimed last month that Harrison remains a target for Leeds, but Manchester City want £20million for the England youth international. It is believed Leeds remain keen, but another loan could be orchestrated.
Now, the former New York City star’s latest Instagram post shows the winger putting in plenty of work in the gym, despite being on holiday prior to pre-season. The post will only encourage Leeds to make an offer this summer.
Leeds need wingers. Gjanni Alioski’s injury towards the end of the campaign left the Whites with only Harrison, Jack Clarke and Pablo Hernandez to choose from. But the latter is preferred in the middle, while Clarke could leave.
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for teenager Clarke, and that would leave Bielsa without a number of options out wide. Harrison is believed to be his top target, as Dan James nears a move to Man United.
Harrison’s willingness to remain fit throughout his holidays will only encourage the Whites to make a bid this summer. Whether owner Andrea Radrizzani wants to spend big, or bring him back on loan, remains to be seen.
Wages could also prove to be an issue, too. Spotrac claim Harrison is on a whopping £51,000 a week at Manchester City, which would completely eclipse Leeds’ current wage structure. But Leeds remain interested.
