Jack Harrison has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the atmosphere that the Leeds United supporters create is immense, and led to an incredible feeling when he scored the Whites’ second goal at the weekend.

Harrison is quickly becoming a fan favourite after an outstanding run of form. The 22-year-old has had a direct hand in more goals than any other member of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad this term.

He has scored twice and contributed four assists in the Championship. And after setting one up and then scoring in the 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Harrison explained what it was like when he tucked the ball past Liam Kelly in the latter stages of the win.

“It’s important not to get too excited,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post. “I think at times this year I have been too excited and maybe missed my opportunities but if you score at that end in front of the fans, the atmosphere that they create is just immense.

“It creates an incredible feeling inside and it’s great to have that feeling. I wish I could do it more often!”

It has been a remarkable turnaround from Harrison. He was sensational in pre-season. And that left the supporters dreaming that he was going to step up in a way that he did not quite manage during his first loan spell.

An opening day goal only saw expectations increase. But what followed was a dip that hinted that his form over the summer may have been something of a false dawn.

However, Harrison is now playing as well as he ever has done for Bielsa’s side. And with scoring goals proving to be somewhat problematic for Leeds this term, his productivity has ensured that he is now one of the most important players in the Whites’ ranks.
