Leeds United’s links with Manchester City have long been rumoured about this season. Ever since Marcelo Bielsa was appointed as Leeds boss it has appeared he may use his relationship with Pep Guardiola to bring in some players. That has now finally come to fruition with Jack Harrison joining on loan yesterday, but Leeds should not stop there.
Another City player that would be perfect for Leeds is Belgian defender Jason Denayer. The eight-cap Red Devils international has no chance of first-team football at City next season – with John Stones, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi all blocking his path.

In the past, he has impressed on loan with the likes of Celtic and Galatasaray. A spell with Sunderland was less successful but the centre-back is a fantastic talent and one who Leeds could thrive with.
Another centre-back is needed at Elland Road. Whilst Pontus Jansson can hopefully discover his best form the lack of quality besides him is a concern. Even the adaptation of Kalvin Phillips into a central defender should not stop Leeds looking for another option.
Denayer, who Sporx claim is a £9 million target for Galatasaray this summer, would be an ideal recruit. If Leeds could arrange for a potential loan deal which could become permanent then this move would be ideal for Bielsa’s needs.
