Jack Grealish thinks Manchester City have an 'unbelievably talented' player in Phil Foden

Jack Grealish has raved about Manchester City star Phil Foden during his England press conference – claiming he is “unbelievably talented”. Quizzed about comparisons between Foden and Paul Gascoigne, Villa skipper Grealish also discussed how Foden is tricky to get off the training pitch.

Foden has been sensational for Manchester City over the past 12 months. The 21-year-old attacker had a hand in 26 goals during his 50 City appearances in all competition, helping them win the Premier League and Carabao Cup. Now, he is expected to start for England at Euro 2020.

Grealish, meanwhile, is said to be a £100million target for Manchester City this summer. A nominaion for the Premier League Player of the Season award, Grealish only managed to play 26 league games but still had a hand in 18 goals during that time. Grealish has now heaped praise on Foden.

“Phil is an unbelievably talented player,” Grealish told his press conference, in a video posted on Football Daily. “He just loves football. Trying to get him off the pitch after training is hard work for the coaches. But we’ve both got a long, long way to go to get anywhere near him [Gascoigne].”

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

Could Foden and Grealish connect for England – and Manchester City?

The duo could both be in line to start on Sunday against Croatia. Gareth Southgate might go with a back four, and include Mason Mount alongside Declan Rice. It could see Grealish play as a 10 with Foden on the left and Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling or Jadon Sancho on the right.

Manchester City fans will be licking their lips. The England front three could literally be the same as theirs next season. Harry Kane continues to be linked and there is every chance he could be flanked by Foden and Grealish on Sunday. Exciting times for Manchester City fans.
