Jack Grealish sums up what he thinks of Aston Villa right now in just two words
England star Jack Grealish clearly retains huge affection for Aston Villa despite his exit to join Manchester City.
Grealish was brought off the bench for the Three Lions last night as they tried and failed to break down the United States.
The game ended 0-0, which is a result which all but sees England into the knockout stages, barring a collapse against Wales on Tuesday.
Grealish won fouls but was unable to break the deadlock as England struggled to create chances in a display which failed to follow on from the 6-2 win over Iran.
Grealish on Villa
Grealish of course scored in that game, rounding off the 6-2 victory with a tap-in and did the celebration he had promised a young fan before the tournament.
Also before the World Cup, he filmed a piece for Deliveroo on Twitter where he played a word association game about various topics.
When asked what he thinks of Villa now, he replied: “The best.”
Some Villa fans may not have that same affection for Grealish after his exit, but he would be the toast of the nation if he can help lead England to glory in Qatar.
It is important not to panic about the result last night; England are still exceptionally well-placed to make it to the last 16.
They also drew 0-0 with Scotland in the groups in Euro 2020 and went on to make the final, so this need not be anything more than a clean sheet, solid result and something to learn from.
