Jack Grealish must push on with another England snub reportedly likely

It looks unlikely that Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish will be included in Gareth Southgate’s upcoming England squad.

The Three Lions take on the Czech Republic and Bulgaria this month and Aston Villa talisman Grealish has been hoping to press into the England senior set-up for some time now.

However, it appears he will miss out again. FourFourTwo reported so yesterday whilst The Sun and The Guardian did not mention him in their reports on the potential call-ups for tomorrow’s announcement.

Former Aston Villa team-mate Tammy Abraham, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori and Everton midfielder Fabian Delph could all get the call but Grealish, it seems, is not in line.

In August, ahead of England’s last set of matches, The Independent reported that this opportunity had ‘come too soon’ for Grealish following promotion to the Premier League. Once again, it appears that England staff still need to see Grealish be more consistent with his form in the Premier League before he gets the shout.

With the likes of James Maddison, Ross Barkley, Dele Alli, Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and plenty of others competing for a similar spot in the England squad, Grealish has a fight on his hands to establish himself as an England regular.

Aston Villa fans will just hope that aim can continue to inspire him to perform at a higher level. Hopefully, he can then lead Aston Villa away from their unwarranted low Premier League position.
