Jack Grealish hails Manchester City performance in win over Atletico

Manchester City are into the semi-finals of this season’s Champions League after overcoming Atletico Madrid.

It was a real battle, as expected, with passions spilling over in stoppage time and City having to work exceptionally hard to get through.

It was a 1-0 aggregate win, sealed by the first leg victory at the Etihad Stadium, and City will now face Real Madrid in the last four.

Grealish was involved in an exchange of views of former City defender Stefan Savic not long before the final whistle.

Players from both sides were pushing and shoving and the aggravation continued into the tunnel once the game had finished.

Grealish took to Instagram after the game to celebrate the win and congratulate his teammates, having been an unused substitute on the night.

Grealish made the move from Aston Villa to be involved in the big Champions League nights, and will hope to have a big impact against Real.

It has not been the easiest first season at City for him, and it feels like he is still waiting for a defining moment in a blue shirt.

The Champions League would be the ideal stage to provide it, as City remain on course for the treble, ahead of facing Liverpool at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
