Jack Grealish finally broke his duck and got on the score sheet on Friday night.
The silky midfielder picked up his first goal of the season as Aston Villa beat Bolton Wanderers 2-0.
And Aston Villa fans will be hoping that the goal will act as a spirit lifter for Grealish. He could be the man to turn Aston Villa’s season around and spearhead a promotion charge now.
Although Aston Villa have had a slow start to the season, they are not miles off the pace in the Championship.
They may be in the bottom half of the table but just five points separate them from the play-off zone.
If the Villans can string a good run of results together, they could charge up the league table and have momentum to launch a serious promotion bid.
With Grealish, reinvigorated under new boss Dean Smith, they have a talisman to lead them there.
The local lad has the ability to win matches on his own but he needed a confidence boost after a slow start to the season.
Fresh off the back of scoring his opening goal of the campaign, the 23-year-old needs to build on this and add more goals and assists to his name.
By doing this, Grealish can be the man to get Aston Villa back to the top flight.
