Jack Grealish and Conor Hourihane’s midfield reshuffle was key to Aston Villa’s 5-1 thumping of Norwich and both men have lifted the lid on the tweak.

Dean Smith has shuffled his pack in the engine room of late and it bore fruit at Carrow Road, despite Grealish previously saying he hated playing on the left.

As per Express & Star, Grealish said: “I said the other week I hate playing on the left! But this isn’t really on the left. When the manager asked how I felt about playing there, I said: ‘I will play wherever’. I am just happy to be on the pitch. Anywhere I play will be fine. The manager has done that to get me further up the pitch.”

While Hourihane added: “The gaffer wanted Jack a bit higher up the pitch. He got a very good goal on Saturday. If Jack comes inside, I go outside. It seems quite easy to do. It is fluid. We are moving around and it seems to be working all right.”
