Jack Clarke return for Leeds may be turning point in promotion bid

Leeds United are right in the race for automatic promotion in the Championship with eight games to go and currently sit third in the league table.

They trail second-placed Sheffield United by just a point and are five points behind in-form leaders Norwich City.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team have enough time to get back in the crucial top two positions, but are just in need of a spark after losing two of their last five games.

The Yorkshire giants welcomed back Jack Clarke for a cameo off the bench just before the international break and he’s exactly the type of vital addition that Bielsa needs to get promotion over the line.

With the absence of injured star striker Kemar Roofe, Leeds need more players to contribute in the final third and it’s all about trying to win every game remaining.

Clarke is back from illness and his return should give all of his teammates a lift.

The 18-year-old attacker is already an important player at Elland Road and he’s someone that strikes fear into opponents when he’s in possession.

He is an extremely skilful winger that will give Leeds something different on the ball and that was evident on his comeback against Sheffield United.

Clarke has two goals in the Championship so far this season and both have come as a substitute, which is why his next aim has to be making an impact with starts.
