Jack Clarke labelled Luke Ayling phenomenal in response to the right-back’s Instagram post following Leeds United’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Ayling breaking the deadlock for Marcelo Bielsa’s side is becoming a regular occurrence. He has scored the opening goal in three of the last five games – and they have all come inside the first 16 minutes.

The 28-year-old’s deflected effort started the scoring against Hull City last weekend. And he followed that with an absolute stunner against the Terriers at Elland Road.
Ayling made a blistering late run into the box to get onto the end of Jack Harrison’s cross. It looked difficult enough just to get into the area in time, but Ayling then unleashed a brilliant volley which went in off the crossbar.

It was a stunning goal. And Ayling is now only behind Jack Harrison, Pablo Hernandez and Patrick Bamford in the club’s goalscoring charts.
It is a remarkable return from a player who had only scored twice for Leeds before this season.
Unsurprisingly, Ayling was keen to express his delight on social media after the Whites’ latest win. And plenty of teammates responded with praise for the defender.
But there was also a message from former Leeds youngster Clarke, who needed just one word to sum up his assessment of Ayling’s heroics.
Here is Ayling’s post following by Clarke’s comment…
