Jack Clarke was amongst a host of players who responded to Tyler Roberts’s post on Instagram following the Leeds United forward’s superb brace against Hull City on Saturday.
Roberts was responsible for putting the icing on the cake for the Whites at the KCOM Stadium. He came on during the second-half when Leeds were 2-0 up and looking to put the game to bed.
And the Wales international was the man to make sure the three points were secured in some style.
His first goal came from a superb finish after the ball was laid off by Mateusz Klich. And it was the same two players who linked up for the final goal of the game.
Klich played a gorgeous cross into the box. And Roberts produced an equally outstanding finish with the youngster finding the back of the net with a diving header.
It was a fantastic return to the side for Roberts, who had not featured since the defeat to Nottingham Forest.
And some may be hoping that it boosts his claim for a starting role as Patrick Bamford’s wait for a goal continues.
Roberts took to social media after the game to express his delight at scoring the two goals. And he also praised the man who assisted him for both.
Plenty of teammates and rival players responded to Roberts’s post. And amongst those was Clarke, who suggested that now is Roberts’s time.
There was also a message from another former teammate, with Tom Pearce getting in on the act…
