Leeds United’s teenage sensation Jack Clarke comes across as a level-headed individual that is focused on solely improving at Elland Road, but surely he’s been distracted somewhat by heavy speculation linking him with a big-money move.

The 18-year-old has broken in the senior team under Marcelo Bielsa and his reputation is soaring, as he lights up the Championship.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have rejected an approach from Crystal Palace for the attacker, while Tottenham and Bournemouth are mentioned as interested suitors.

It is understood that he’s valued in excess of £10million by the Whites, but most importantly the report details they have no intention of offloading him and the club have ruled out allowing any first teamers to leave in January.

With Clarke’s mooted exit reportedly ruled out, it should allow him the chance to focus on his football.

The winger has remarkably started just one Championship fixture still, which was the win over Derby County in the last game.

He turned in a man of the match display against Derby with some dazzling individual moments and is a nightmare for full-backs with his trickery.

Clarke has to try use the second half of the season to cement his spot in the starting XI at Elland Road, which is certainly not going to be easy as the club push for promotion back to the Premier League.

Leeds fans will hope the attacker’s long-term future is with them, but at the very least his immediate time looks like being spent in Yorkshire.
