Izzy Brown could now play a pivotal role for Leeds United

Leeds United are now sweating over the fitness of top-scorer Kemar Roofe. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, the forward picked up a knee injury in the recent win against Swansea City and will undergo a scan to assess the level of the damage.

However, given the care Marcelo Bielsa gives to his players after injury, it is likely he will be set to miss some fixtures for the Whites.

So it might now be time for Izzy Brown to shine.

Roofe has recently been playing with Patrick Bamford, operating in a deeper number 10 role.

With Roofe potentially out, Brown may finally be the hero for Leeds.

Signed on loan from Chelsea at the end of August, Leeds knew they were going to have to wait to see him in action. The young playmaker was recovering from a serious knee injury. However, Leeds were surely expecting him to have made his debut by now.

Unfortunately, after recovering from his knee problem, he went on to suffer a hamstring problem.

Leeds United could now finally call upon the 22-year-old. He has been on the bench for the past two Leeds games and has been featuring for Carlos Corberan’s under-23 side.

His time at Leeds, so far, has been a disappointment because of his injury trouble. However, if Brown can come in and help out whilst Roofe is injured, he might prove key to Leeds promotion hopes after all.
