'I've been told': Tottenham want to snap up 'undefendable' £10m attacker - journalist
Tottenham Hotspur have already bolstered their wing-back ranks this summer with Ivan Perisic and Djed Spence.
However, it looks as though Spurs could yet make more additions on the flanks.
According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook – via GiveMeSport – Tottenham remain keen on Adama Traore.
The Wolves ace was on Antonio Conte’s radar during the January transfer window.
However, Traore ended up moving to Barcelona on loan, where he made 17 appearances.
Now, the Spain international finds himself available once again.
A return of zero goals and four assists wasn’t enough to convince Xavi to sign him on a permanent deal.
The Athletic revealed not too long ago that Wolves will accept as little as £10million for Traore.
Crook understands that the 26-year-old remains on the list of targets at Tottenham.
He also claims Traore’s role would be as competition to Matt Doherty and Spence at right wing-back.
Crook wrote on GiveMeSport: “The other name that I’ve been told that is still on their list is Adama Traore, to add some right wing-back competition.”
90Min, meanwhile, recently claimed Tottenham were eyeing Traore as an alternative to Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.
Tottenham could land bargain and transform him into star – TBR View
Traore has entered the final year of his Wolves contract.
If they don’t sell him now, they run the risk of losing him for nothing next year.
Though Traore has failed to maintain consistency in his goalscoring contributions, he’s got plenty to offer.
At 26, he’s heading into his peak years, and his physicality and pace are almost unrivalled in the modern game.
And for £10million, Spurs would be getting themselves a bargain.
Conte famously turned Achraf Hakimi into a world-class RWB.
He could surely do the same with the “undefendable” Traore.
