'I've been impressed': David Seaman hails 23-year-old Arsenal ace

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been praised by Gunners legend David Seaman on the Seaman Says podcast.

The 23-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer transfer window for a fee that could reportedly rise to £30million.

Ramsdale arrived to provide cover and competition for Bernd Leno – and now it looks as though he’s already leapfrogged the 29-year-old in between the sticks.

Leno was in goal for Arsenal’s first three Premier League games of the season, conceding nine goals.

Ramsdale then got the nod for the games against Norwich and Burnley, which were both clean-sheet wins.

Indeed, the former Sheffield United man hasn’t conceded a single goal for the Gunners.

And with Mikel Arteta starting Leno in the Carabao Cup win over Wimbledon, it suggests he now sees Ramsdale as his pick for the league.

Speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, the Arsenal icon believes the summer signing is indeed first choice for the north Londoners.

“What was interesting was that Leno was in goal so I think that situation has been sorted out,”’ said Seaman, as transcribed in Metro.

“I think Ramsdale is now looking like he’s the No.1 goalkeeper. I’ve been impressed with him as well.

“His performances have been positive, he’s looked really confident and he’s not shown any nerves at all so it’s an interesting situation.

“With two wins, you’re not going to replace your goalkeeper are you?”
