Ivan Klasnic sends Tweet to Bolton Wanderers, willing to help out

Ivan Klasnic has sent a heartfelt Tweet to Bolton Wanderers after the club were saved on Wednesday afternoon just hours after the club had been given a 14-day extension to complete a takeover.

The club, following their relegation, were at threat of liquidation on Wednesday before Football Ventures (WHITES) Limited completed a takeover of the club. It appears that Bolton have now survived, unlike Bury.

The club has been saved but the problems remain at Bolton. Indeed, the club are more than likely to be relegated to the fourth tier of English football already – given that they have hardly any senior players, and are currently rock bottom on minus 11.

However, the club are expected to make a number of signings in the coming days with Jack Hobbs and Gary O’Neil linked. Now, 39-year-old retired striker Ivan Klasnic has pledged his help towards the club.

Klasnic spent three years at Bolton between 2009 and 2012 and scored 24 goals in 93 league and cup outings, 20 of which came in the Premier League. He eventually left to join Mainz, where he lasted a year before retiring.

Bolton fans reacted to Klasnic’s heartfelt post, with many urging him – perhaps jokingly – to reconsder his retirement six years after calling time on his playing career, to return to Bolton as a striker.
