Wolverhampton Wanderers should block reported interest in their attacker Ivan Cavaleiro.

According to the Sun, Championship leaders Leeds United are keen on trying to take him on loan for the rest of the season.

The report details that manager Nuno Espirito Santo is weighing up the 25-year-old’s immediate future amid interest.

It is understood that the right-winger’s future at Molineux could depend on if they sign another attacker this month.

Cavaleiro has not quite had the desired impact so far this season in the top flight, despite his three Premier League goals.

The powerhouse has been unable to force his way into the team on a consistent basis and found it difficult with the competition for places.

But there is no way Nuno should loan out the Portugal international and keep him around.

Cavaleiro definitely offers something different to Wolves in the final third, with his pace and energy vital when he’s on the pitch.

He is definitely capable of hitting a purple patch of form, something that teammate Diogo Jota did with a hat-trick against Leicester City recently.

Cavaleiro’s versatility to play anywhere across the frontline makes him vital and it’s easy to forget it’s his first season in English  football.

The wide man was crucial in promotion from the Championship and it’s too early to write him off.
