Fabio Paratici believes that Jules Kounde is one of the best signings he can possible make for Tottenham Hotspur, Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Chris Cowlin’s Youtube channel.
Kounde has emerged as a potential target for Spurs in recent weeks, after a fine season with Sevilla.
At the moment his price tag has to be a concern for Spurs, and Romano does suggest that the North London club believe the Frenchman will be difficult to sign.
However, Paratici is apparently a big admirer of the 22-year-old.
And although Tottenham don’t have much confidence that they can get a deal over the line, there is a belief that a transfer may have a slim possibility of going through. .
“It’s true that they had direct contact with his agent. Kounde is really appreciated by Paratici, he thinks he’s one of the best centre-backs he could sign for Tottenham,” he said.
“They are in talks with Sevilla about the price because 80m euros is not going to be paid by any club this summer.
“The realistic value is around 40 or 50 million Euros [£42 million].
“We will see if Tottenham can find a deal with the club and also the player, because at the moment there is not a lot of optimism about this deal.”

Obvious appeal
The appeal of signing Kounde is obvious for Tottenham, given his quality.
Kounde has been one of the best defenders in Spain over recent years, and he would be an extremely exciting addition to Tottenham’s team.
In recent days it has been claimed by La Colina De Nervion that Tottenham are ready to submit a £50 million offer for Kounde, which would make him a club record signing.
But that has to be seen as unlikely at this stage, due to the limited budget that Spurs have.
If Kounde was brought to Spurs he would surely walk into their team ahead of the likes of Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez, especially with Nuno seemingly planning on playing five at the back next term.
