It’s time for Arsenal to consider buying ‘incredible’ 17-year-old after FA Cup display last night

Although Mikel Arteta will be focused on all that Arsenal can still achieve this season, there must be one eye on the summer, too.

Arteta will need to add several profiles to his squad, especially if the likes of Thomas Partey leave.

And whilst Partey’s future is quite hypothetical right now, he would require a stellar replacement if sold.

Similarly, Arsenal look like they need an upgrade on Eddie Nketiah as soon as possible.

Although now scoring freely, Arsenal’s squad could still benefit from the arrival of an elite goal-scorer, a player who can pick them up during bad runs of form.

And once you consider that Arsenal need to add another centre-back, it’s clear that there’s a busy summer ahead.

But having played against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night in the FA Cup, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that Leeds United have a huge talent in their squad.

And if Arsenal aren’t already scouting 17-year-old Archie Gray, then something is going wrong.

Without getting carried away, Gray delivered a 90 minute display boding Declan Rice potential.

Mikel Arteta needs to consider summer Arsenal move for Leeds youngster Archie Gray

Gray has played for Leeds on 37 occasions this season and his having a remarkable season.

The ‘incredible’ midfielder has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, and would surely now carry a huge price tag.

But given Gray was arguably the best player on the pitch last night at Stamford Bridge, he could definitely be worth it.

On last night’s display, there’s simply no doubt that Gray will go on to be a top England international, and Arsenal should move early.

Whilst the youngster might not be ready to replace Partey immediately at Arsenal in the summer, he would really compliment the balance in Arteta’s squad.

Gray would thrive playing alongside Rice in the middle, and could fit in well with Jorginho too.

Realistically, Arsenal can’t buy a ready-made superstar in every position.

And if a striker is going to arrive akin to Victor Osimhen’s level, it might be a nice balance to recruit a young midfielder alongside, one who is also homegrown.

Gray really is a breathtaking talent, you need only watch the highlights from last night’s game to agree.

And if the likes of Joshua Kimmich or Frenkie De Jong are beyond Arsenal this summer, then Gray could be an incredibly exciting prospect.
