It’s still not impossible that ‘terrific’ player signs for Tottenham

Conor Gallagher to Tottenham is the transfer rumour that just won’t go away.

The Chelsea midfielder has been linked with a move to Spurs for some time now, but there’s been no concrete movement on that front.

We hear so many conflicting reports about this deal. One day it’s on, the next it’s off.

So, what’s the reality? Well, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, The Mirror’s Darren Lewis has shared his verdict on this potential move, and he says that he’s not sold on this idea that it would be impossible for Gallagher to sign for Tottenham, instead claiming that a deal is very much possible.

Gallagher not impossible

Lewis shared his view on this potential move.

“My concern is that he will be sacrificed. He’s a terrific player. I’m not sold on the idea that it would be impossible for him to come to Spurs and here’s why. I didn’t think Chelsea would sell Mason Mount to a rival, and they sold him to Man Utd for £60m. He was a poster boy for the academy, I just think as far as Gallagher is concerned there is that problem with PSR with Chelsea. I think he would be an excellent fit for Spurs, and working for a manager like Postecoglou who puts his arm around a player, I think Gallagher could really settle down,” Lewis said.

“This is a Spurs podcast so we won’t dwell too much on Chelsea, but I think there is a possibility that Gallagher could come, yes.”

One to watch

Gallagher to Spurs isn’t impossible, and if we know anything about Tottenham it’s that they love a last-minute transfer window twist.

Of course, getting Gallagher out of Chelsea this late in the day won’t be easy, but the Blues do need to sell and if a decent offer goes in, maybe there could be some movement.

Granted, this one isn’t all that likely to happen, but when there’s a will, there’s a way.

Don’t be shocked if this all comes together in the final weeks of the window.
