Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Mikel Arteta commented on Aaron Ramsdale’s performance in the 1-0 win over Norwich.
What’s the story?
Well, the £24m man was making his Premier League debut for Arsenal after Arteta selected him ahead of Bernd Leno.
The 23-year-old got off to the perfect start, keeping a clean sheet as the Gunners recorded three points for the first time this season.
Speaking after full-time, Football London quote Arteta as saying: “I think he was terrific. Not only what he did on the technical side, it’s what he transmits. His chemistry with the backline. I had to make a decision today and Aaron was the right one to do so.”
Now, some Arsenal fans seem to think this means the No.1 shirt is Ramsdale’s to lose from this point on, with Burnley up next.
In fairness, they might just be right.
Aaron Ramsdale now a starter for Arsenal

If the Gunners had lost this game, there would’ve been carnage around north London.
The pressure on Arteta was – well, still is – immense, and Arsenal simply had to beat Norwich after losing their first three Premier League games this term.
When a game like this comes around, a manager isn’t going to mess around with his team selection – he’ll choose those he trusts most.

In that respect, it was telling that he handed Ramsdale a start for this game, leaving Leno on the sidelines.
The Chesterton-born glovesman certainly took his chance.
Now, the No.1 shirt is his to lose, in our view.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Arteta’s comments on Ramsdale…
