Paul Brown has suggested that Thomas Partey has realised his future may lie away from Arsenal.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the journalist shared an update on Thomas Partey’s future.

Partey has endured a frustrating start to the season having once again struggled with injury problems.

The 30-year-old has featured just four times in the Premier League, missing five games through injury already.

It’s no secret that Partey was heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal over the summer.

Indeed, the Ghanaian has attracted interest from Juventus and the Saudi Pro League, with Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq the latest to be linked with a move.

And with ongoing concerns over Partey’s injury record, Brown believes Partey could be on the move in the near future.

Partey could leave Arsenal

Speaking to GMS, Brown suggested Partey is aware he may need to leave Arsenal.

“I think he’s realised that his future may lie away from Arsenal,” the journalist said. “If they get a good offer for him either in January or the summer it’s not impossible that that he leaves.

“I don’t think Arsenal are desperate to sell and they wouldn’t really want to weaken their squad in the winter window.

“So if they were to do a deal to let him go, I think it would mean somebody else coming in. But I do think that his future is in doubt at the moment.”

When available, Partey has been a standout performer since joining Arsenal for £45 million back in 2020.

The midfielder was a key part of Mikel Arteta’s side last season and many were excited to see him link up with Declan Rice in midfield.

Yet, that duo hasn’t quite happened as of yet due to Partey’s struggles with his fitness.

Partey will have just a year left on his deal come the summer and given his recent injury record, it does feel like the right time for Arsenal to move him on.
