Richarlison finally had his moment in the sun this weekend for Tottenham.

After 18 months of struggles, the Brazilian netted his first brace for Spurs against Newcastle United, and we wouldn’t back against this being the start of a run of form for the Brazilian.

Speaking on his podcast, Eamon Dunphy has been full of praise for Richarlison after his performance against Newcastle, and he’s credited Ange Postecoglou for his recent upturn in form, claiming tat it’s amazing what a bit of good coaching can do for a player and their confidence.

Postecoglou has transformed Richarlison

Dunphy spoke about the £60m player and the Tottenham manager.

“It’s interesting, the real top coaches, Richarlison has been at Spurs for a while now, and he’s been very temperamental, he’s never really delivered, but he scored, he played his heart out, played superbly. It’s amazing the effect a good coach and a manager can have on a character as dubious as Richarlison,” Dunphy said.

Positive

It’s a bit early to say that Postecoglou has done an amazing job with Richarlison. After all, he’s scored just three league goals in almost half a season.

However, it has to be said that things are looking up.

This weekend’s showing against Newcastle was undoubtedly Richarlison’s best performance in a Tottenham shirt to date, and if he can kick on from here, he could well become a star for the north London club.

As we saw at Everton, Richarlison is more than capable of doing the business at this level, but consistency has always been a problem.

Luckily, Ange Postecoglou is something of a master when it comes to harnessing a player’s confidence and getting the best out of a striker when they’re in form and hopefully, he can weave his magic with Richarlison and help him put together a run of form.
