Micah Richards has made an interesting observation about Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The former Manchester City star has said that Arsenal are not at last season’s level, yet they are doing well.
So, what has Micah Richards said about Arsenal? Let’s take a look.
Micah Richards gives verdict on Arsenal
Well, Micah Richards has expressed his admiration of Arsenal. The former Manchester City star has noted that despite not playing as well as they did last season, the Gunners are winning matches.
The BBC Sport pundit has noted that the front three of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are not scoring enough goals.
Arsenal are second in the Premier League table with 36 points from 16 matches, a point behind leaders Liverpool. Defending champions City are fourth with 33 points from 16 games.

Richards said on The Rest is Football podcast: “In terms of their form it’s actually strange talking about Arsenal. They have been brilliant and bought into what Arteta is doing but I don’t think they are at the level this year as last year, but it can be taken in two ways. That could be a good thing because they still have another gear to go.
“If you look at Arsenal’s front three in Saka, Martinelli and Jesus, within the league they only have nine goals. So if they want to win the league that has to improve but them being in and around it, having not scored that many goals make me think ‘okay’.
“In respect to their Champions League, with respect to the other teams in there you expected them to go through, but how they are going through with flying colours is really good.
“Making some changes as well, you expect them to beat Lens and Sevilla are a team I thought would do a little bit better, and then PSV have been a really good team in this competition but to top that gives them the confidence they need. They are going in the right direction.”
Arsenal could win the Premier League title
In my view, Arsenal are better equipped than last season to win the Premier League title this time.
Arsenal pushed Manchester City hard last season, but an injury to William Saliba did affect the Gunners in the final weeks. The North London club also could not win some crucial games.
I believe that Arsenal would have learned their lesson from last season. The Gunners are a better and more experienced team because of that.
As Micah Richards has noted, Arsenal are not at their best yet, but they are still getting results and winning matches.
I think the Gunners are more pragmatic this season and are getting the job done even when not playing particularly well.
