'It's a good time': Frank Lampard says he's going to loan out 19-year-old Everton youngster this season

Frank Lampard has shared his plans for talented Everton youngster Lewis Dobbin ahead of the new Premier League season.

In an interview with the Athletic, Lampard says that Dobbin needs a loan exit for the campaign ahead to continue his development.

19-year-old Dobbin needs gametime, having impressed Lampard in training of late and the plan is for him to get it.

“Lewis Dobbin is one where a loan probably will be the best thing for him,” said Lampard.

“He was great last year, trained well and showed energy and spark.

“But it’s a good time for him to go and play.

“There’s still more to go with them, and it’s not easy to get in the team.

“But every opportunity I get to integrate them I will, with the new rule over five subs which I think is great.”

Dobbin might have hoped that an opportunity would open up for him at Everton, with Richarlison having left the club this summer.

But it looks like he is set for a loan exit and it remains to be seen what level he goes in at when he departs on a temporary basis.

Ellis Simms is a talented Everton forward who benefited from a loan spell last season – with Hibernian – and that could act as inspiration for Dobbin.
