The agent of Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo has flown to London amid interest from Tottenham and West Ham.

Paolo Bargiggia, a journalist from Italian outlet CMW, says that Spurs have made contact to try and sign the Italy international.

It seems West Ham’s bid to land Zaniolo is a loan one, which will not be entertained by the Serie A outfit at this stage.

Alfredo Pedulla has reported that the relationship between Roma and Zaniolo has completely broken down and there is no way back.

Spurs are very much seen as Zaniolo’s preferred option, according to a report by 90Min, which should help them get the deal done.

Of course, Daniel Levy does tend to take his time over deals, trying to get the best possible price, especially if he knows the player wants to leave and join Spurs.

So perhaps we should expect a lowball offer in the first instance, rather than Spurs going in big to get their man as early as possible.

That said, Spurs were more decisive than we have come to expect in the summer and they have just lost two matches in a row.

So maybe Antonio Conte will create more urgency behind the scenes over getting new faces through the door to bolster his options.

Roma boss Jose Mourinho made it clear what a big fan he is of the Italian, speaking to the club’s YouTube channel earlier this season after a victory.

“Dybala and Zaniolo played an extraordinary game and both could have scored two goals each. I’m incapable of not saying that Dybala and Zaniolo played an extraordinary game.”
