Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now shared what he knows about Sporting Lisbon star Pedro Porro’s agent and Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have been linked with moves for a new right wing-back, with 90 Min reporting that Antonio Conte is eager to upgrade his options in the position.

Both Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have been underwhelming this season, while Djed Spence has barely been used by Conte since joining the club over the summer.

Correio da Manhã reported yesterday that Tottenham are preparing a formal offer for Porro in January. Now, Gold has explained that Spurs are closely connected with the agency that represents the 23-year-old.

Gold on Porro and Tottenham

Speaking in his latest YouTube video, Gold explained that CCA Base, the agency that represents Porro, works closely with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

“I think Pedro Porro is CAA Base. Base are very connected with Spurs, do a lot of stuff with Spurs. I think they have James Maddison as well, which is why there’s been a lot of Maddison links,” he said.

“It would make sense in that respect from him. I know Daniel Levy has a lot of dealings with Base. So yeah, we’ll see what comes of that one.

“He’s another good young player and see whether that one comes to any kind of fruition. And if it does, what it means for those other players in those roles as well.”

CAA Base also represents three Spurs players in Heung-Min Son, Richarlison and Alfie Devine.

The agency also represents many former Tottenham players, including the likes of Kieran Trippier, Dele Alli and Kyle Walker.

Porro has impressed in Portugal since making the permanent switch to Sporting from Manchester City last summer.

The Spaniard has also faced off against Conte’s men twice in the Champions League and he has seemingly caught the Italian’s eye.

The wing-back would certainly represent a significant upgrade on Tottenham’s current options and he has a £39 million release clause in his current deal.
