Dele Alli has talked up the Wolverhampton Wanderers fans as ‘great’ after playing in-front of a packed Molineux crowd yesterday on Sky Sports.
Tottenham ran out 1-0 winners over Wolves yesterday, with Alli the only scorer in the contest.
The Spurs midfielder actually was jeered by sections of the Wolves crowd, after some judged him to have gone down too easily to win his side a penalty.
But, after so long without fans, Alli was still appreciative of the atmosphere that Wolves fans created.
And the Tottenham man had kind words to say about the home supporters after the game.
“It was tough. When you come to a place like this, their fans are great and their team played really good football,” he said.
“We knew it was going to be difficult. From the start to the finish we had to fight and earn the three points, and I think we did that.
“They have great players and are a threat, so we know they’re going to have chances, but it’s how we react to that and I think we did it very well.”

Back to his best?
Alli’s display for Spurs was actually excellent, and suggested he is getting back to somewhere close to his best now.
Wolves, meanwhile, are still looking for their first points of the season.
Bruno Lage’s side have been a big attacking threat in their first two games, but have not been able to finish their chances, which has caused some frustration.
Wolves can take heart in the fact that they have given two strong teams very competitive games now though, after running both Spurs and Leicester close.
And if they continue to perform to similar levels throughout the season then they should start picking up points on a regular basis soon.
