Ian McGarry has told the Transfer Window Podcast that Arsenal do not want to loan out Eddie Nketiah this summer, despite him turning down a new deal.
Contract rejected
Nketiah has just one year left on his deal at Arsenal currently, with his future now firmly in doubt.
Arsenal would like him to stay and have offered him a new deal, which would protect his value.
But Nketiah’s refusal to sign a deal means that Arsenal might try and offload him.
The Gunners are only interested in listening to permanent offers for the young forward though, according to the latest update.
“Nketiah has one year left on his contract and was attracting interest from other less prominent Premier League sides,” McGarry said.
“But he has been offered a new deal at Arsenal, it is our understanding, but he has refused to sign it.
“Arsenal now don’t want him to be going out on loan in the circumstances.”
Duncan Castles then offered some information over why Nketiah has decided that his future lies elsewhere.

Arsenal problem?
“Arsenal have an issue at present in that they are putting a lot of money into getting players into the club, but they have several young English talents in there who aren’t happy with the situations and Nketiah is one of them,” the reporter added.
“That’s the reason why he has been refusing to sign a new contract – not seeing that potential to play enough football when the club are investing elsewhere.”
Nketiah’s stance is, perhaps, understandable as he has now reached an age where playing regularly could be key.
Nketiah is now 22, and he has never really been given a consistent run in Arsenal’s starting line-up.
The striker did make 17 appearances last term in the Premier League, but most of these were as a substitute, and he scored just two goals.
