After deadline day passed, many Arsenal fans would have thought that Mikel Arteta’s squad was set, at least for the next six months.
However, Arsenal have now received a late offer for Leandro Trossard, the bid has arrived from Saudi Arabia according to reports, given their transfer window is still open.
Trossard started for Arteta against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, one of the players who was sacrificed after Declan Rice’s red card.
But when he was on the pitch, and the both sides still had 11 players, Trossard enjoyed some excellent moments, a player who has been full of end product at Arsenal.
It feels a bit unfortunate for the Belgian that he was denied the chance to build on his Aston Villa performance further, but perhaps that chance will come in the upcoming north London derby.
Arsenal must reject Saudi Arabian bid for Leandro Trossard immediately
It’s been reported that Arsenal have been offered €35m (£29m) for Trossard, a bid they will presumably have to respond to in quick fashion.
At the start of the summer, Edu might have accepted that bid pretty swiftly.

Trossard has been an excellent performer for Arteta at times, but in footballing terms, the 29-year-old is now entering his latter years.
The winger will be 30 in November, and Arsenal might not have too many more chances to recoup such a sum.
Perhaps that Trossard money could have been used to launch a bid for someone like Nico Williams or Raphinha.
However, with the transfer window now closed in Europe and Arsenal’s squad set, there’s simply no justification for Edu to accept.
The club are thought to be in a healthy position off of the pitch right now, and losing Trossard would only make them weaker on it.
Raheem Sterling wasn’t intended to replace Leandro Trossard
Of course, some fans may feel as if Raheem Sterling’s arrival at Arsenal could justify the Gunners letting go of Trossard.
Perhaps some will point to the fact that Trossard will soon be 30-years-old as explained.
However, Sterling came to north London to supplement Trossard, not to replace him.
If Trossard left in the coming days and Arsenal were unfortunate enough to suffer an injury out wide, they’d already be down to their bare bones.
Perhaps the best case scenario for the Gunners is convincing Al-Ittihad to return in January or in the summer, when they might have adequate time to find an upgrade.
As right now, Trossard is still a crucial member of Arteta’s dressing room.
