West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass has the chance to prove his worth following Andriy Yarmolenko’s unfortunate injury.
The Ukrainian winger, signed in the summer for £17.5 million from Borussia Dortmund, underwent successful surgery on his damaged achilles tendon sustained against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Yarmolenko faces a frustrating six months on the sidelines as a result of the injury.
He joins Manuel Lanzini, Carlos Sanchez, Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere and Winston Reid in the treatment room.
It’s a big blow for the player, who had just began to settle into life at his new club.
He recently hit his first two goals for the club against Everton, and fans had been impressed with his contributions since.
A successful operation
An official club statement was put out on Monday informing fans of Yarmolenko’s situation that he will be out for the foreseeable.
Head of Medical Services Richard Collinge said: “Andriy’s operation went well and we will now work hard to support him throughout the rehabilitation process.

“His recovery will be planned very carefully and we have every confidence that he will return to full fitness within the scheduled timeframe.”
A chance for Robert Snodgrass
Yarmolenko’s injury potentially opens the door for Robert Snodgrass to fully prove himself following his move to the club in January 2017.
The Scotland winger is greatly admired by the Hammers faithful, but he is yet to enjoy a run of starts.
He was loaned to Aston Villa last season and impressed for the Championship side, after struggling to make an impact with his parent club.

He could now be in with a great chance of justifying his £10.2 million price tag (BBC Sport).
It’s likely that Snodgrass will be selected to play on the right wing, so he can cut inside and shoot or deliver crosses.
He appears to be slightly more favoured that Michail Antonio, and youngster Grady Diangana has only just arrived on the scene.
