‘It could cost them’: Gabriel Agbonlahor predicts the winner of Manchester United v Tottenham

Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in the Premier League and Gabriel Agbonlahor has expressed a concern for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Spurs arguably go into the game as favourites to win. A better run of form and the new additions of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin means Tottenham can go into the game with confidence.

For United, inconsistencies continue to hinder their season. However, they did win their last game at Old Trafford, coming back from 2-0 down to beat in-form Aston Villa.

And making his prediction on the game for TalkSPORT, former Villa man Agbonlahor has claimed Spurs’ way of defending could cost them like it did Villa.

Gabriel Agbonlahor predicts Manchester United v Tottenham result

Speaking on TalkSPORT about the game, Agbonlahor suggested that Tottenham’s high defensive line could be their downfall against United.

“Big game. New signings for Spurs, hopefully looking to start. Manchester United looking to get another win at home. Tough game. I feel if Spurs go down the Villa route and play that high line it could cost them in this game because Man United worked that out in the second half against Villa. So, I’ve got to go with a Manchester United win, I feel like that home crowd feel like they’re onside so I’m going for a 2-0 win to Man United,” Agbonlahor said.

Tottenham can dominate at Old Trafford

Agbonlahor makes a fair point about the defending here but there is every chance that Tottenham also come to Old Trafford and steamroll Erik ten Hag’s side.

Spurs have looked so good at times this season that even without Heung-Min Son, they could easily overwhelm this United side.

Postecoglou will surely be telling his team to make a fast start and silence the home crowd. If they can do that, then there’s every chance United simply buckle.

Tottenham have done remarkably well to stay in the hunt for the top spots despite all their injuries.

If they can pick up a win against Man United, then confidence will start to ooze through the players once more and belief will grow.
