Is Tottenham ace Dele Alli turning into the complete midfielder?

Tottenham sensation Dele Alli first burst onto the scene as an attacking midfielder that can score a ton full of goals, but his latest international display with England proves he’s far more than just that.

The 22-year-old showed last his season his influence in the final third, scoring 14 goals and supplying 17 assists in all competitions.

His clever movement in attack and his confidence in front of goal should mean he is always going to ship in with his fair share of goals.

But he has started to become a more complete all-rounder in midfield and that was on display during England’s 3-0 win over USA on Thursday night.

Alli looked in complete control in the centre of the park, as he demonstrated he now has the qualities to drop back into deeper roles and have an impact in games.

Spurs’ ace assisted Jesse Lingard’s opening goal on the edge of the box, but his defensive work was equally as impressive and he’s got a great work-rate too.

Alli is developing into a real pass master that is confident in possession and can help his side tick over in midfield.

The North London club are yet to see him at his dazzling best so far this campaign, but his latest display suggested his confidence is up and he is nearing top gear.

Spurs have so many options in the final third to choose from, so it may be really handy to use Alli in a deeper role at times and his manager Mauricio Pochettino deserve immense praise for nurturing his development.
